Lesser charges: State v. C.S.

Client was accused of possession of a firearm by a felon, which carries a five year prison sentence.  Through investigation involving DNA, fingerprint, and witness interviews, Mr. Peterson was able to uncover that his client did not ever possess the gun involved.  Rather, it was a case of mistaken identity and the client’s friend had possession the whole time.  Mr. Peterson worked out a plea deal for the client where he plead guilty to other far less serious charges and avoided the five year prison sentence.
